Peppermint is one of the most common and widely used essential oils. It would be a rare and strange thing if you have not come into contact with it at least once if not more in your life. Peppermint oil is very effective at treating the surface of the skin issues such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, wounds, boils, rashes and things like that. That is due to Peppermint's natural antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. With its cleansing and also cooling abilities, it makes it a great oil to use on your skin. Especially when the skin is irritated, being able to cool, soothe and clean the skin. To use it apply a small amount directly to the affected area, if you have sensitive skin it is best to dilute the peppermint oil in a carrier oil, such as jojoba or something similar and test a small patch of skin to see how you react to it.
Benefits of Peppermint Essential Oil for Headaches
Most people, at some point in their lives, get headaches. Peppermint oil is a fantastic remedy for such a burden. Simply rub some undiluted oil on the temples in a gentle circular motion. You can even place the oil at the base of the neck or forehead for faster relief in those areas should you need it.
Benefits of Peppermint Essential Oil for Toothaches
As we know peppermint oil is a natural and powerful cleanser and purifier. When you have a toothache, simply dab some of the oil on the problem tooth and let it sit and work. It is recommended to not drink any liquids until you have let the oil do its work. If you need to drink something, room temperature water through a straw is best.
Benefits of Peppermint Essential Oil for Nausea
In cases of nausea or IBS(Irritable Bowel Syndrome), peppermint oil works wonders to ease and relax you during either of these things. You can do one of two things or both if you really want to. Ingest it orally or simply inhale the scent of the oil and you should begin to feel at ease and relaxing during your bouts of nausea or IBS.
